According to the Upwork report, about 59
million Americans are doing freelancing which is almost 40% of the total US
workforce. The professional freelancers are earning about $80,000 annually,
offering different skillsets.
There is strong change in the job market of
America because in the condition od pandemic about 4 million Americans ‘ve
turned to the freelancing. Youngsters in the market prefer flexible work
alternatives rather than choosing a full time job. Many people who work as
full-time employees ‘ve laid off since the world’s economy has disturbed badly
in the condition of covid-19 and also there is big lack of job opportunities.
People are struggling financially and they
can’t afford their daily expenditures. Now, in this case, everyone wants a
relaxing job in which he/she can work at his own time, manage his/her working
hours and can take as much payment as he/she wants.

The Upwork report. states that about 36% of freelancers are
doing freelancing as a full-time job and this number has increased 8% in 2020.
75% people who have left their full time job says that they make same money or
more money while doing freelancing than the traditional 9-5 job, 22% have
reported that their income as a freelancer has increase every year.
In 2020, the accumulating annual earnings of
the freelancers is $1.2 trillions.
So, it is so safe to say that freelancing just has advantage all around and the things like covid-19 not has a single impact on the freelancing economy rather it convince people to leave the full-time jobs and start freelancing.
